Product Review: Compression Packing Cubes

Picture
When it comes to packing for a trip - you either love it or hate it. Some people thrive on trying to cram as many perfectly folded outfits into their suitcase, all of which have been planned out for the corresponding days of their trip. While others find themselves throwing whatever is clean into a bag last minute. Whichever side of the spectrum you fall on, I am so excited to share one of my new favorite travel products that will help you pack smarter and make the most of any size space.

Tripped Travel Gear compression packing cubes are especially useful for organizing outfits in a suitcase and minimizing your clothes to fit inside a backpack. You can separate the cubes by different outfits or easily pack away bulky clothing like raincoats/heavier jackets that are not used as often. Take advantage of empty cubes to pack dirty laundry in and keep your suitcase or backpack organized.

When searching for flights, you'll often find the cheapest options don't include overhead bin access. Don't worry - packing cubes to the rescue! You can choose from a two, three, or six piece set depending on the length of your trip and how much you'll need to pack. With the two piece set (one large and one small cube) you'll be able to fit a week's worth of shirts (example: rain jacket, zip hoodie, long sleeve t-shirt, and a cardigan) in the large bag and five women's size medium t-shirts in the small bag. When compressed you can fit both cubes into your personal bag, slide it under your seat and avoid any extra fees.

If you'll be gone for a long weekend consider the 3-piece set (two large and one small cube) which is perfect for a medium overnight bag. The 6-piece set includes two large and two small cubes, a slim tube which is perfect for shoes or other travel accessories, and a laundry bag. This set is ideal for  carry on luggage and will keep your suitcase organized and also leave extra room to bring home a few extra items for all the shopping you'll be doing.

I personally love having the 6-piece set which allows me to mix and match cubes depending on what I need for an upcoming trip. I'll also use the slim tube to throw a pair of shoes in a gym bag, or bring the laundry bag with me in my beach bag to hold my wet suit and clothes on the way home. The packing cubes are made from polyurethane fabric which is ultra lightweight and durable so you can be confident you'll get plenty of use out of them.

The other aspect I love about Tripped Travel Gear packing cubes and what makes them so unique is the two zipper system which helps eliminate the extra bulk when packing your luggage. After packing your clothes, use the main zipper to close the cube. Next, use the second zipper and compress out the air as you close it. This method compacts your clothes together and eliminates wasted space allowing you to get the most bang for your buck when trying to fit a lot of clothes into a smaller suitcase, or if you simply want to pack as many outfit variations as possible for that girl's trip (because you just never know right?!)

I have to admit I was pretty impressed with how much each of the cubes can fit, but don't risk ripping them or breaking a zipper by filling them over capacity. You're better off using multiple cubes and getting them to compress properly which will still save you tons of room.

And of course, let's not forget the best part - the cubes come in multiple different colors! I chose white/green for my travels but they also offer grey/orange, grey/white, green/brown and the new graphic option pictured below.
