If there’s one Midwest destination that continues to surprise me in all seasons, it has to be South Bend, Indiana. There is truly so much to see and do in this area and always something new popping up! We had so much fun on our recent visit and got to enjoy some of our favorite snowy season adventures like tubing and ice skating, while also trying out some new activities like duck pin bowling and a cat cafe.

If you’re in search of your next family-friendly Midwest road trip destination, I have the perfect spot...and the location may surprise you! Greater Lafayette, Indiana is located along the scenic Wabash River offering access to two great cities and one historic university with a perfect blend of history, modern attractions, unique animal encounters, and hands on exploration for kids of all ages. We visited when my daughter was around 2 years old and we had the best time. Many of the places we stopped at would also be great for older kids and even teenagers.

Labor Day weekend typically marks the unofficial end of summer, and my sister and I couldn't let the season pass without squeezing in one last girl's weekend getaway. We packed our bags and headed 4.5 hours south to French Lick, Indiana where we spent two nights at the beautiful French Lick Resort.
