Stay at Sunset dunes

Each of the villas at Sunset Dunes has a unique design complete with upscale finishes and coastal charm. The villas also feature a full bath as well as a fully equipped kitchen which is perfect for eating in or packing a picnic to take with you to the beach. The property itself feels so private and secluded and guests have access to a balcony (second floor) or walk out patio as well as a communal fire pit with complimentary firewood. 

The size of your group will help guide which villa is the best fit for you. The two-bedroom unit can sleep up to 8 guests in the master bedroom featuring a plush king-size bed, a second bedroom with two queen-size beds, and a living room with a full-size sleeper sofa. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the villas felt and there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax after a long day on the beach. 

The check-in and check-out process is contactless, with remote keyless entry code sent via email prior to the start of your stay. There is also dedicated free parking available onsite as well as coin laundry machines on the first floor. 

Weko Beach and Warren Dunes State Park

When you stay at Sunset Dunes, you're just a short walk from the shores of Weko Beach which, in my opinion, is one of Michigan's most underrated beaches. In addition to the lakeshore, the park also has an amazing boardwalk you can climb for stunning views overlooking the dunes. There is a dog friendly trail that runs along the boardwalk directly off the parking lot and leads to a section of Warren Dunes State Park. The park is open daily from 5am - 11pm. If you do drive and park onsite, there is a $15/day parking fee for vehicles. Kayak and paddle board rentals are also available.
